A California man is accused of killing a three-year-old girl in a cold case cold case investigation in which authorities say they are working with the FBI and other law enforcement agencies.
The San Jose Mercury News reported that 21-year old Matthew Fournier, a former Marine Corps reserve officer, was arrested Monday on murder charges and kidnapping charges, The Associated Press reported.
Authorities say Fourniers father, Michael Fourner, was working as a contractor for a company called ClassLink Lake, where his family owns property in Fresno, California.
ClassLink is located in the Finger Lakes area.
Investigators believe the disappearance of the girl was a murder-suicide, the Mercury News said.
ClassLink Lake declined to comment to the Mercury on Monday.
Authorities did not immediately respond to requests for comment from the Associated Press.
